Forage is a small form factor card game designed to be learned and played all in the space of thirty minutes with one deck, a handful of stones and a four sided-die. Take turns buying, selling and playing cards with the aim of having the highest scoring collection when the deck runs out.
At the beginning of each turn, players roll the four-sided die. That many cards are revealed from the deck to form the forage pile. Players then have two optional actions they can perform:
Buy cards using stones to add to your personal collection.
Sell two cards of the same type (any two mushrooms/beetles/berries) for 5 stones.
Buying and selling may only be done once per turn, in any order. Once the deck runs out, each player gets one bonus turn to spend their extra stones and then scoring commences! Players who have the most of a given category get to score those cards and all players with identical pair of cards get to score those.
And that's it! It sounds simple but you need to keep on top of what your opponent is doing so you don't end up empty handed.
